How It Works
Participating is completely free and can be completed from any mobile device or computer at your convenience.

What is involved?
There are currently four phases of the study. All are online.
Phase 1: We will enroll you in the study. Then, you will answer some questionnaires about yourself, your family, and your feelings and experiences since Hurricane Harvey. This will last about 90 minutes; after you finish you will receive an electronic gift card for $20.00.
Phase 2: You will be randomly assigned to one of 3 groups.
Group 1 will participate in brief online exercise A; a brief writing activity for four days in a row.
Group 2 will complete questionnaires and brief online exercise B; a different brief writing activity for four days in a row.
Group 3 will be kept in the study for later phases, but will not participate in these writing activities.
If you are in group 1 or 2, you will receive $20 after you complete the online exercise. There is no writing activity for Group 3, so participants in this group will receive $20 the day they are assigned to this group.
Phase 3: We will contact you through email and ask you to complete more questionnaires two months after you complete the writing activity (or for group three, two months after you are assigned to that group). These questionnaires will ask about how you are doing in the last two months. Again, you will receive an electronic gift card for $20 upon completion.
Phase 4: This will occur when your baby reaches 6 months old. Via email, we will ask about how you have been doing since the last session, and since you had your baby. Like previous sessions, you will receive an electronic gift card for $20.
